Vietnam information and communication technology update and the development strategy to the year 2020
Realizing the important role of information and communication technology (ICT) towards the country socio-economic development, Vietnam has tried the best to promote the development and use of ICT. On October 2005, the government issued the strategy of ICT development in Vietnam to 2010 and directions to 2020 and the strategic orientations of ICT development in Vietnam during period 2011-2020 was issued on July, 2007. This talk will provide an overview of the current status of ICT development in Vietnam with emphasis on the achievement in the development of telecommunications and Internet. The main content of the strategy for ICT development in Vietnam to the year 2020 will be presented as well.
